It is run by Pandit Sahil Sharma, a practising temple priest, who records every profile himself, matches kundalis by hand, and introduces families only after both sides agree. It is not an online portal with self-created profiles.

On a large portal you create your own profile and an algorithm ranks matches for you, with no one verifying what is written. At Sharma Rishte, Pandit Sahil Sharma meets or speaks to each family himself, records the profile, checks the background through local contacts, performs the kundali milan personally, and only then suggests a match. You deal with one person throughout instead of a call centre.

Registration is a one-time fee of ₹1,100. That covers the sitting with Sharma Ji, your profile and kundali being recorded, and your requirement entering the active search. A completion amount is discussed and mutually agreed only after a rishta is finalised — nothing more is taken upfront.

No. There is no login, no dashboard and no profile for you to build. You speak to Sharma Ji on the phone, on WhatsApp or at the office in Palampur, and he records everything himself. This is deliberate — most of the families we work with are parents who would rather talk than type.

The office is in Palampur and most matches come from the Kangra valley — Palampur, Baijnath, Jaisinghpur, Dharamshala, Kangra and Nurpur. We also regularly handle enquiries from Hamirpur, Sujanpur, Mandi, Una, Bilaspur and Chamba, and from Himachali families settled in Chandigarh, Delhi and abroad who want a match from back home.

No. Kundali milan is offered on every proposal and most families ask for it, but if you would rather not match horoscopes, say so and the search proceeds on education, family background and expectations alone. Sharma Ji will still tell you honestly what the charts show if you ask later.

Never. Photographs, phone numbers and birth details are kept in Sharma Ji's own register and shared only with a family that has been shortlisted, and only after you have agreed. Nothing is published on this website or sold to anyone.

It depends entirely on the requirement — community, education, whether the family will settle in Himachal, and how flexible both sides are. Some families receive a first proposal within a few weeks; others take several months. Sharma Ji will give you an honest reading of how difficult your requirement is at the first sitting rather than a promise he cannot keep.

Yes, and many do. Himachali families settled in Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab and abroad often want a match from their own region and community. The entire process can be handled over phone and WhatsApp, with the family meeting arranged when you next visit.

Bring the exact date, time and place of birth for the kundali, along with education and job details, a recent photograph, and a clear idea of what your family is looking for. Government ID is helpful for verification. If you do not have the birth time, tell Sharma Ji — there are ways to work around it.

Traditionally 18 out of 36 gunas is the minimum for a match to be considered. 18 to 24 is treated as acceptable, 25 to 32 as very good, and 33 to 36 as excellent and quite rare. A score below 18 is normally not taken forward without a specific reason. However, the total alone is not the full picture — Nadi, Bhakoot and Manglik positions are read separately.

Nadi dosh occurs when both charts fall in the same Nadi — Aadi, Madhya or Antya — and it costs all 8 points of the highest-weighted koota. Classical texts link it to the health of the couple and their children, which is why it is taken seriously. It is not always final: Nadi dosh is considered cancelled in several standard situations, such as when the bride and groom share the same rashi but different nakshatras. A pandit reads the specific charts before deciding.

A person is called Manglik when Mars sits in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house of the birth chart. The traditional concern is friction in married life. In practice a Manglik chart is usually matched with another Manglik chart, and several standard cancellations apply depending on the sign Mars occupies and its aspects. It is far more common than most families assume.

Yes, and many do. A low score tells you where the friction is likely to be, not that the marriage is doomed. Sharma Ji's practice is to explain which kootas failed and what that means in daily life, so the family decides with clear information rather than only a number.

Guna milan is based on the moon's nakshatra, which moves relatively slowly, so an approximate time often still allows a usable match. For detailed dosh and dasha analysis the exact time matters more. Tell Sharma Ji what you know — approximate time of day, or the event nearest the birth — and he will tell you what can and cannot be read reliably.

The ₹1,100 registration fee covers work that begins immediately — the sitting, the profile record and the kundali — and is therefore not refundable. It is a one-time amount, not a subscription, and there is no automatic renewal.

No. Registration is a single one-time payment. There is no monthly plan, no auto-renewal and no charge for each proposal shared with you.

It is discussed only once a rishta is finalised and both families are happy, and it is mutually agreed at that point. Nothing is fixed in advance and nothing is demanded. If you want to know what is customary before registering, ask Sharma Ji directly and he will tell you plainly.

Cash at the office, UPI, or bank transfer. A receipt is given for every payment. Never pay any amount to a person claiming to represent Sharma Rishte without confirming on the official number first.
