How it started
A pandit who kept being asked the same favour
Pandit Sahil Sharma has spent years performing vivah sanskar, kundali milan, griha pravesh and family ceremonies for households across the Kangra valley. Weddings are the work — which means he has sat with hundreds of families at exactly the moment they are deciding the most important thing they will ever decide.
Over time the requests changed shape. Families would bring a kundali to be matched, and then ask a second question: Panditji, koi rishta ho toh bataiyega. If you hear of a good match, tell us. They were not short of intent, or of standards, or of the willingness to travel. They were short of connections.
That is the real gap in Himachal. In a valley of small towns and scattered villages, a family in Baijnath may never hear about a perfectly suitable match in Nagrota, twenty kilometres away, simply because no one knows both households. Large matrimonial websites solved reach for the cities. They never solved trust for the hills — a self-created profile from a stranger is not something most parents here are willing to act on.
Sharma Rishte was started to close that gap properly: one register, kept by hand, of families who have actually been met, with kundalis that have actually been read.

Who runs Sharma Rishte?
Sharma Rishte is run by Pandit Sahil Sharma, a practising temple priest based in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. He records every profile personally, performs the kundali milan himself, verifies family background through local contacts, and introduces families only once both sides have agreed.

Say the difficult thing early
If a requirement is going to be hard to meet, you hear it at the first sitting. If a kundali is weak, you hear that too. Families deserve an honest reading, not an encouraging one.

Nothing goes public
No photograph, phone number or birth detail appears on this website or anywhere else. Everything stays in Sharma Ji's own register and moves only with your permission.

Both sides are treated the same
The bride's family and the groom's family get the same care, the same verification and the same honesty. A match only works if both households are comfortable.

The relationship does not end at the wedding
Families here call Sharma Ji for the griha pravesh, the naming ceremony, the next daughter's rishta. That continuity is the whole point.
